Cliveden House Spa Refurbishment
Architect: Formation Architects
Cliveden House is a National Trust owned Grade 1 listed property that is leased to a private company that operates the house as a five-star luxury hotel.
The works have included demolition of existing elements including carefully removing and setting aside stone columns and other features, carrying out extensions to the existing buildings, complete renewal of mechanical and electrical installations and finishes throughout, re-installing existing stone columns to the new facades, renewing the pool plant room and Jacuzzis, new sauna and steam rooms, forming a new glazed link between the hotel building and the spa building, and landscaping works to the spa garden.
Our Services included the preparation of cost plans, preparation of tender documents, negotiation of the contract sum with pre-selected contractor, providing post contract services including preparing valuations, final account and periodic cost reports. We also provided the Contract Administrator’s services.
During pre-contract and early stages of the contract we undertook extensive value engineering services to ensure that the clients achieved best value for the standards required in a high-quality spa.
The National Trust oversee certain elements of the works, as Landlords, in order to ensure that their normal standards are maintained and correct procedures are followed.
The works were completed in July 2017.
